    Hi All

I have a clean install version of Vista on my desktop and it causes me untold issues...

The CPU usage of explorer.exe is constantly averaging 98% .... this causes windows explorer to not function... if I right click the start and choose explorer all i get is a white screen....

In resource manager explorer has about 33 threads......

There is no P2P progs loaded or anything..... here is a copy of my hijack this log.

Not saying it is, but could be symantec.
Go into MSconfig and disable all symantec startup items and services.
The reboot and see if the problem continues.
If this works try reinstalling, or get a less resource hungry antivirus.
Also why I say this is,,,,

    O23 - Service: LiveUpdate Notice - Unknown owner - c:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccSvcHst.exe" /h ccCommon (file missing)

But it could be any or all of those missing file entries, especially the services ones.

Also, try Process Explorer ... http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx

This may help better narrow down which process is eating your CPU cycles.
