    Hi,

I need to export a database from Visual Dataflex 12.0 to MySQL.

Anyone got a good tutorial or can provide me with instructions how to do this?

1 If you acquire the ODBC connectivity kit for Visual DataFlex then you can convert your application data files to MySQl - no code changes. Check out http://www.visualdataflex.com/features.asp?pageid=881

2 If your application includes VDF Query, then you can create simple "reports" that will dump data to .CSV, XML, etc. Look in the reports pull down of the application for something that looks like "Query", Ad hoc reports" or similar. If it is not there, ask the developer where it is!

    3 Go look at http://www.baycastle.co.uk/ - DataSlave

4 If you are on Windows XP or earlier, look at FlexODBC from http://www.flexquarters.com/flexodbc.htm. This makes DataFlex files look like an SQL database from the point of view of access through ODBC enabled clients

5 If you have access to VDF's Database Explorer there are facilities to export data from a file there.
