My Windows 10 desktop has a pair of monitors, extended formatting. I'm adding a projector to the mix for movies and whatnot. Problem is, Windows seems only to allow me to extend to both the additional monitors, or duplicate to both.
What I want is for the projector to duplicate the second monitor, which is an extension of the first. That way, to my thinking, I can run the movie on one screen and be able to do other stuff on the other. Thoughts?
The solution, if possible, would depend on the video controller capabilities and how the monitors and projector are connecting to the desktop PC. I may not be able to provide a solution, but it might help someone else here to assist you if we knew the brand and model number of your computer and the brand and model number of any video controller expansion card that is plugged into the motherboard. We would need the brand and model number of the card itself, not the brand and model of the video controller IC on the card.
As for watching a movie while doing other things on the computer at the same time, it would depend on the computing power of your CPU and video controller. Doing other things on the computer could cause short hesitations in the movie playback and/or slow operation of other tasks.
