You want to connect 1 external hard drive to both a computer and to a stand-alone Blu-ray player that supports external storage connections? Simultaneously? Not going to work. External hard drives will not handle multiple sources reading and writing at the same time.

You can share your external drive or specific folder(s) from your drive through your computer then have the blueray player access the files over the network (that is if the blueray player is networkable)

Do you know if your blueray supports DLNA or network media shares? If so then since its connected to your network you can (theoretically) share the files from your computer (on the external attached to your pc) with your blueray.. but Idk .. check your blueray manual
