F.E.A.R installation probelm, plz help!

    i get this error messeage when installing F.E.A.R combat that i downloaded online.

    Feature transfer error

    Catastrophic failure

    now i do not have this error messeage before when i install that game, but now i do:(

    I ve checked online for solution and none of them worked. so i came here looking for help.........

    So if i understand you correctly you previously had the game installed. Uninstalled it and now you are trying to install it again?

    If this is the case then it's probable that the game was not completely uninstalled to begin with. This isn't surprising as Microsoft's 'Add/Remove' program is poorly written in that it does NOT completely remove the application. I actually use a 3rd party uninstaller as when it actually cleans out program files folders and registry keys that get left behind. It's called 'Your Uninstaller 2006' and is available for free trial.

    Otherwise you can do it manually by deleting any program file folders relating to the game as well as searching the registry for any FEAR entries and nuking them. MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR REGISTRY FIRST

    After that see if you can install again. Please include the exact error message given in you next post if that doesn't work.
