I have a Presario 1700 Series Laptop built for Windows 98. I changed the original Hard Disk for a new one.

Now i can't make a Factory Restore, because my Quick Restore Disks won't work with the new HD.

Any ideas on how i can use my disks? I'm currently using Win XP and want to switch back to Win 98, but the regular Win 98 doesn't recognize the Monitor, Quick Buttons, Modem or Network, so i need the Compaq Factory Restore.

    Please Help

What you may have is the Recovery CD. The recovery CD wont work on new hard drives as the System_SAV partition originally present in your old hard drive is not present. Compaq no longer supports systems with Windows 98. Your only option at this point is to buy a full Installation CD and perform a clean install.
