Everyday when I log on to my laptop it will say:

"Failed to connect to a windows service.
Windows could not connect to the System Event Notification Service service. This problem prevents limited users from logging on to the system. As an administrative user, you can review the System Event Log for details about why the service didn't respond."

But when I go to click on it nothing happens, also my computer has been slow and I have been having problems getting on the internet. My internet will either freeze up or stop working also the sounds for logging on or off have been slow too. I am using micorsoft security essentials which I have used to try to see if there is a virus but it comes back clean.

My laptop is a Pavillion dv5.

Please use the TSG System Info tool to let Tech's know the specs of your computer: http://static.techguy.org/download/SysInfo.exe Copy and paste the results here in your thread.
Also, if its a brand name system like an Acer,Dell or HP, please post the exact model of the system.

Do you have SuperAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes? If not, they are highly recommended here and compliment your Anti-Virus program.

http://superantispyware.com/ Choose the FREE version, and decline any toolbars etc., included in the download packages. Check for updates before doing a Quick scan.
