I have a machine with windows 7 ultimate installed on it. The C drive is mirrored between two hard drives via the computer management console (AKA, software raid). I think the original hard drive (the one I first installed on, before mirroring) is failing. My question is, how do I go about removing that failing drive from the system and booting off the mirrored drive. I don't have the funds to replace the drive right now, but I have my critical data backed on on an archive drive, so I don't mind running without raid for a while. Can I just remove the old drive? I don't want to break the raid and lose my data by doing something stupid.
