    This sux.....
yesterday things started disappearing from my xp pro."run" is gone...the check box option in start/properties/customize/advanced is gone as well,as is the drag and drop option.which makes me unable to right click on anything in my start menu.I tried accessing run from windows+r but it says that the feature has been disabled and to contact my administrator.I'm sure thee is other stuff gone as well that I dont know about.I tried doing a repair install but it didn't change anything.I also tried to restore an old registry backup but it wouldn't let me.Before i did all this i booted into safe mode and ran:cc cleaner(basic) ,adaware, windows malicious software removal tool, and windows defender....in that order and came up with nothing.I rebooted into safe/networking and ran bitdefender and panda online scans and panda came up with another trojan, but not a disabler.I'm at work at the moment otherwise I would post all the logs.I believe I have all the crap out....I just need to know how to get the computer back up to speed without having to do a re-installation.I have hours and hours of stuff that I'd have to reload....any advice??

    • Download WinPFind
    • Right Click the Zip Folder and Select "Extract All"
    • Extract it somewhere you will remember like the Desktop
    • Dont do anything with it yet!

    Reboot into Safe Mode
Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

    Doubleclick WinPFind.exe
    • Now Click "Start Scan"
    • It will scan the entire System, so please be patient!
    • Once the Scan is Complete
      • Reboot back to Normal Mode!
      • Go to the WinPFind folder
      • Locate WinPFind.txt
      • Place those results in the next post!.

    and post a hJT log

before we go any further please do this
    Download Combofix to your desktop:

    * Double-click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
    * When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply.

    Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.
