I a Genuine Windows notification that I can't get rid of. I have a Dell with Windows XP. I have run the validation a few times and it says that it will be okay. It always shows up on the next reboot.

    Download and run.
    RemoveWGA 1.2
RemoveWGA only removes the notification part, phoning home, and does not touch the Validation part.

If I have a real installation of Windows, does it get corrupted, or are they just trying to piss me off?
