Fan not stoping

    Recently I notice my fan don't stop working.
    Any ideas what this means?
    I have a PC with XP

    when do the fans not stop working? when u turn off the computer?

    Your fans should always run when the PC is on, if they keep running when the PC is off, then there may be a problem....is this the case?

    Are fans should always been working when the PC is on?
    I didn't know that. Man, that makes me feel dumm...sorry.

    On laptops the fans will run when needed to maximize battery life. And desktops can have variable speed fans that run more or less depending on the temperature, but typically they won't shut off completely. You may only hear them when they are at higher RPMs, which could create the impression that they turn on and off.
