just noticed few day now that there is no sound at all coming from my laptop.

and also noticed the heat underneath sometimes its to hot to put hand there for more than a second.that cant be right.

so i guessed my fans stopped working. i used a program to check my fan speed and it confirmed what i thought. they have stopped, no idea why though.

this is screen shot of the program with the results.

any idea on how i could fix this? or would i have to buy a new fan?

Take it to a repair shop.

ye i will do that as last resort since they charge a fortune to fix computers when if do it yourself cost very little compared to what would charge in shop. and usually its only replacing 1 part which cant be that hard.. with proper instructions.

so any suggestions on what i need and how i would do it ?

    appreciated

If you are familiar and comfortable with opening up your laptop and working around the inside of it, you could open it up and see if the fan(s) stopped due to excessive dust or some object that may gotten sucked into the laptop's case.

haven't opened it up yet.. but there is a sound coming from the laptop now, i think its the fans.

but on the speedfan program it is still saying that my fans have 0 rpm.

could someone try this program on their computer to see if it works or not?

    thanks
