Fatal Exception, OE- 016F:BFF9DFFF

I keep randomly receiving this Fatal Exception and have to disconnect from the net and reboot my PC.
I must have gone through this process about a dozen times today. Besides being an annoyance which is driving me crazy, it is costing me money in net reconnections.
Has any of you guys had this problem and if so what causes it and most importantly ,how do I rectify it.

how are you connecting to the internet

is it cable modem or telephone line or dsl

 

Ihave amodem and dial up connection by phone line to the internet.

do you have any portable phones connected to the same line

if so try disconnecting them

if that doesnt work try removing the modem in system properties and rebooting the computer to see if it finds the modem again and see if will reinstall the drivers

if it doesnt find it on boot try adding new hardware (in control panel)
to see if it finds it
