OK, I'm not even gonna suggest a limit here,
or even that the songs be your top favorites.

But I'm gonna list 10 that were special to me
at particular times and places, their order is
strictly alphabetical. Feel free to go nuts here...

A Daisy A Day - Jud Strunk
Angel - Sarah McLachlan
Brandy (you're a fine girl) - Looking Glass
I Will Always Love You - Dolly Parton (sorry Whitney...)
Kentucky Rain - Elvis
Long Black Veil - Sammi Smith
Sound Of Silence - Simon and Garfunkel
Take Me Home Country Roads - John Denver
The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia - Reba McEntire
The Rose - Bette Midler

Cheers, Mac :)

Man this can take a while.... I could be here for hrs. :)
I am a big music fan & have been in a audio chatroom where all we did was play music & MP3's.........
I have many many favorites. My own personel taste in music is diversified. My favorite style is soul, R&B & blues... but I like some country too.

My all time favorite song has got to be (drum roll goes here)
1. Rainy Night In Georgia by Brooks Benton OR Conway Twitty & Sam Moore ( can't make up my mind which i like best ) There are just so many........ don't know where to start.

I'll add more to this later

This is so difficult.
I can't choose 10 favourites, cos appreciation of certain tunes changes over time, and I'm constantly introduced to new music.

So, how's about an alphabet of artists with a tune apiece. This is by no means sufficient to express my faves, and in many cases I really like a number of tunes by each artist, or can think of several artists for most letters, but I'll give it a go:

A) Aim & Kate Rogers - Sail
B) Beastie Boys - Jimmy James
C) Coldcut - More Beats And Pieces
D) The Doors - People Are Strange
E) Echo & The Bunnymen - Killing Moon
F) The Foo Fighters - This Is A Call
G) Genesis - Looking For Someone
H) The Herbalizer & Latryx - 8pt Agenda
I) Incubus - Are You In
J) The Jam - Start
K) The Kinks - You Really Got Me
L) Lemon Jelly - The Staunton Lick
M) Morrissey - Angel, Angel, Down We Go Together
N) NoFX - Vincent (Don McLean cover)
O) Only Child & Kriminul - Crazy Rhymin'
P) Pennywise - Killing Time
Q) Quincy - Bruce Lee MC
R) Rae & Christian feat Veba - Spellbound
S) The Sundays - Wild Horses (Rolling Stones cover)
T) The The - Love Is Stronger Than Death
U) UNKLE & Ian Brown - Be There
V) The Verve - Weeping Willow
W) The Wonderstuff - Closer To Fine (Indigo Girls cover)
X) Xymox - Inside Out
Y) Neil Young - The Needle And The Damage Done
Z) Zero 7 - Destiny

My think bone hurts!

Sysco Kid..... Here are the lyrics to "In the Year 2525"

IN THE YEAR 2525
Zager & Evans

In the year 2525
if man is still alive
if woman can survive
They may find

In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lie
Everything you think, do and say
Is in the pill you took today

In the year 4545
You ain't gonna need your teeth, won't need your eyes
You won't find a thing to chew
Nobody's gonna look at you

In the year 5555
Your arms hangin' limp at your sides
Your legs got nothin' to do
Some machine's doin' that for you

In the year 6565
You won't need no husband, won't need no wife
You'll pick your son, pick your daughter too
From the bottom of a long glass tube

In the year 7510
If God's a-coming, He oughta make it by then
Maybe He'll look around Himself and say
"Guess it's time for the judgement day"

In the year 8510
God is gonna shake His mighty head
He'll either say "I'm pleased where man has been"
Or tear it down, and start again

In the year 9595
I'm kinda wonderin' if man is gonna be alive
He's taken everything this old earth can give
And he ain't put back nothing

Now it's been ten thousand years
Man has cried a billion tears
For what, he never knew
Now man's reign is through

But through eternal night
The twinkling of starlight
So very far away
Maybe it's only yesterday

Thanks for your suggestions, robcaro, but none of them really took my fancy!
I mean, Pia Zadora?!

I don't really desire to get a "Z", but if I come across one that's cool I'll post it!
