Alright, here's the deal. I'm a huge fan of the Carmageddon series, and I decided I wanted a force feedback racing wheel for Xmas. Luckily, I got one (Thrustmaster NASCAR Pro Force Feedback), and it worked so wonderfully in Carpocalypse Now, my favorite in the series.

Well, I bumped the off switch in the middle of a game, so hastily I flipped it back on. The game froze for a good seven seconds, and then everything worked except the force feedback. As far as I can tell, it's there because I get shaking when I use the Afterburner. It shakes like it would normally, not like it's the strongest thing there so it's the only thing I can feel.

    I've tried:

    - uninstalling and reinstalling the game and the wheel in different orders and running regclean (the wheel works in all other force feedback games perfectly, btw).

    - I did the same thing again, flipping the switch during the game. who knows? :)

    - patched the game to the british patch, which is supposed to have some fixes for force feedback. But it wouldn't run because I have the American CD. So I found and used a NOCD crack, but the force feedback didn't help.

    - looked through regedit

    - There are two files in the /data directory of the game that pertain to force feedback (as far as I can tell) : FFB.txt and FFB.ifr. I looked through those to see what I could do, but haven't really found anything yet.

    info contained in FFB.txt:

    --------------------

    4.7 //max upper limit
    3.5 //max lower limit

    --------------------

I tried making the numbers higher, but that didn't really seem to do anything.

    info contained in FFB.ifr:

*bites his lip* Well, I haven't screwed with that yet. interesting that the afterburner is first? maybe that's a coincidence.

Well, I really want to play this, so if I can't get it to work in the next few days, I'm going to set up windows on a spare hard drive and just install this one game there, and use that when I want to play. Yuck.
