    Hello All

A few of my files have been changed to the VLC icon, is there a Utility to correct this kind of thing?

    Regards SilverSurf

    Hello SilverSurf,

    Set Default Programs
    • Click Start.
    • Click Control Panel.
    • Click Default Programs.
    • Click Set Default Programs.
    • Choose what program(s) you want to set as default for all files and protocols it can open.

For what it's worth, I love VLC. It is much more compatible than just about any other media player out there, and also has some abilities to rebuild corrupted files.

Is this on Win 7 or XP?
If Win 7, follow Cody's instructions to change the default program.
    If XP, Start>Control Panel>Folder Options>File types tab.
Find the File type you want to change and select it and click "Change".
If you want VLC as the default, but want a different icon for that File Type, click "Advanced" and click "Change Icon" instead.
