I'm using Windows 7
There's a suspicious file on my flash drive that has a cross symbol and 0 bytes. whenever I try to delete it I get an error "The filename you specified is not valid or too long. specify a different file name.

cut and paste to recycle bin doesn't work and third party software also gives an error.

Should I be concerned about this file? and how can I get rid of it?

Just rename it to something else, i suspect that cross is the invalid character, although there is no extension to it... so if it's not something that you know you had and was reimaged, I guess the only thing you can do is delete it.
Hi Couriant, thanks for the time you're taking to help me. However, if you read my initial problem I can't delete, rename or copy and paste to the recycle bin.
