    Hey guys,

I finally have the cash ready for a new system. I want this to be a wise decision because the last system I bought brand new quickly went out of date .

Please take a sec to critique my system. I want this to be a wise investment that will keep me from not upgrading for the next 3 years...(if that's possible)

    -INTEL Pentium 4 at 2.80GHz (2800 MHz). Hyper-Threading technology-800Mhz system bus
    -512MB DDR at 400MHz
    -80GB Ultra ATA-100 hard drive (7200 RPM)
    -8Mb cache 5xPci/1xCnr/1x8X Agp
    -integrated AC 97audio+1.44F.D.D.
    -52x24x52 CD-RW (cd burner)
    -keyboards/Mouse/Speakers/17" case 420W power supply
    -Integrated 10/100 Ethernet Chaintech
    -Geforce4 MX440 64MB DDR w/TV out AGP8X

This is the kinda system I'm looking into. Tell me what I should upgrade so I can get it right the first time. Thank you so much.

One thing would be the hard drive. try to go to ata133. This would be faster. Also I would want at least 128mb ram on the video card.

I agree with n2gun, why buy a WD drive when you can buy a Maxtor ata133 drive for the same price. I gues at the WD drive as that seems to be the first drive everyone picks out when building a new system from the ground up for the first time seems to buy. I guess Iam also guessing this is your first total system build
