Okay, I had 2 drivers under device manager with yellow ! by them, multimedia audio controller and microsoft kernel wave audio mixer. Got the audio controller installed and its good to go, but i cant find this kernel wave audio mixer anywhere, found 1 on driverguide.com but its for windows ME and i use XP home, so it doesnt work. From what i've read in other post, without this driver you will have "no audio device" listed in "sounds, multimedia and other device" under you control panel, therefore you will have no sound. Can someone please help me find this driver. BTW i dont have a restore cd =( Oh, and when i try to reinstall the driver it gives me the message "An error occured during this installation of this device, The I/O operation had been aborted due to a thread exit or application request" ????

You'll need to identify your sound card or chip correctly and install the appropriate driver and then the error should go away. I would advices staying away from driverguide.com as you never know what your are gettting from there.
