Firefox won't connect to the internet or load any of the pages. The internet connection is fine. IE is working, though it does get a bit slow sometimes and I can't seem to download anything.
I've checked:
1.)Anti-Virus software - no threats found
2.)Firefox Setting: It's directly connected to the internet; no manual proxy setting.
3.)Firewall is not blocking Firefox
Any ideas what might be the problem?
That doesn't seem to help either.
I use Windows 7 and Windows Firewall. My anti-virus is Microsoft Security Essentials.
I forgot to mention that it does get better sometimes - for example it was fine and running after I deleted all of my bookmarks, but the next time I turned the computer on it stopped connecting again.
Your bookmarks wouldn't have anything to do with your connection. They're just links. If running with all add-ons disabled doesn't work, then there's a problem with the base Firefox install. Uninstall it and reinstall it.
Reinstalled and done everything above. It seems to be working now, even though it still gets a bit slow and I got the "connection timed out" message a few times, but it's definitely working better than before.
