Firefox Overwritten Bookmarks

Is there a method to recover bookmarks that have been lost and restored in the backup folder even after they've been overwritten?

After my bookmarks went missing from the browser, I researched how to find them in the back up folder. But I didn't realize they remained for only 5 days. The one I wanted recovered has since been overwritten.

Any help is appreciated.

I have had the same problem since installing Firefox 3.0.3 I have not found a workout for this but in the meantime I am saving my bookmarks in a HTML file. I tried to use the "backup" tool in Firefox but that saves the file in Java.
