The type of browser you use has no effect on the malware software you use. It all still works fine as they are all seperate entities. The ones that work when your using IE still work when you use Firefox....or Opera etc. Most of the browser attacks target IE so Firefox is a bit safer. However, attacks on Firefox are happening. Your antivirus, antispyware, etc. works no matter which browser you use.

I use a host of anti-malware programs as many do. I list what I use on my personal website http://members.cox.net/bearbottoms1 There are numerous programs that work well in combination, as some specialize better in particular areas. I don't know of any single program that provides adequate protection alone.

Hi, I have noticed that spyware guard does not cover home page hijack in firefox, and windows defender only covers IE download for real time scanning, I keep adaware, spybot and ewido free for scanning but its the realtime (windows defender, spyware guard) that I am losing that worries me

A good firewall software program and router will help the best no matter what program you use to get online with.
