Did anyone else noticed that the later versions of Firefox, from version 3.5 and up is loading slow - just about anything?

I read a ton of complaints using Google and wonder what happened with Firefox?
And I thought I have some kind of a malware, but nothing is ever found (Winpatrol, Kaspersky 2010, Malwarebytes, also can't see anything wrong in HJT)

Is there a newer version than 3.6.3 out?

Safe Mode, same, IE6 is also very slow. FF 2 was very fast.
Now I use K-Meleon, very fast.
I googled: "Firefox 3 and above very slow" and got tons of hits. Just wanted to make sure it's not my computer. Not everyone has a new and fast computer.
And yes, XP SP 2, most Windows updates just don't work, my dialup kicks me out after 4 hours or my laptop overheats trying to get updates.

I followed some suggestion regarding making a new profile for FF and unclicking a bunch of stuff, but it did not help.

Firefox 3.5.9 performs fine on my XP SP3.. I'm waiting for the TSG add-on update before going to 3.6. I'm using 3.6.3 on Vista, and haven't noticed any slowdown.

The problem likely is at least partly your computer and/or internet access. If you're satisfied with K-Meleon and are not having other significant problems with the PC you are probably wise to just work with what you have.

    Hello Friend,
Remove the whole Mozilla Firefox program and reinstalled it. If that fails then maybe you have viruses.

    Thanks,
    James

I know my dialup is slow, but FF2.00.2 was fast. K-Meleon is an Open Source program and it says many parts work like FF since the people are pretty much working together, as I understood it.

Some websites want IE or FF, is the problem.
Unfirtunately I have already re-installed FF 3.6.3 several times and as I said, no malware is found, but then, many can hide.
I just hope the next version of FF will be better, since I am not the only one having this problem.
    thanks anyway.
