I have recently installed McAfee VirusScan V7 And McAfee Firewall V4, I like the software as is eay to use and allows acsses to the internet only programs that i allow, However The firewall software detects and stops attacks. But what can i do about these attacks i have a mixed range from Port scanning,Ping Flood and a lot of sys flood. which as far as i can tell are comming from the same address. What can i do if anything - I understand that these may be virusses attacking my system but if they are potential hackers can i not do anything - as if my system (firewall) fails then the computer would be open to anything.
Advice me if you can.

Thats just the firewall doing its job.....Most of the "attacks" will be pings from sites that dont know your not still connected.

run a firewall test here :https://grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 if you pass the test then your firewall is up to the job.

;)
