firewall device for LAN

    I am planning to buy a firewall device to protect LAN. can anyone recommend reliable one? thanks

    Don't really know what you are looking for, but a router is a good hardware firewall.
    i like netgear,dlink, and not so much linksys.
    if you are looking for software i use zone alarm.
    if you have money you could buy something like Astaro internet security. (which is a combo of a few things)
    or a server with a bunch of filters.

    if you have an unused machine laying around, you can turn it into a firewall machine using SmoothWall. That is a decent firewall and you have a lot of control in what you let in/out
