firewall

    Hi, I have a mcafee firewall I was looking in internet applications and noticed that two items are blocked but I don't know what they are, can someone tell me if I need to unblock them.
    applicatiom name[/
    Layer gateway s... file name ALG.exe
    Spooler Subsystem file name Spoolsv.exe

    I just checked program permissions my McAfee firewall and both of those are set to Full Access, so it would probably be OK for you to do the same.

    ALG.exe Application Layer Gateway Service

    Description:
    alg.exe is a process belonging to Microsoft Windows Operating System. It is a core process for Microsoft Windows Internet Connection sharing and Internet connection firewall.



    spoolsv or spoolsv.exe Microsoft Printer Spooler Service

    Description:
    spoolsv.exe is a Microsoft Windows system executable which handles the printing process. This process is not critical to the running of the system but should be terminated unless suspected of causing problems.
