Your matshita is actuallly a panasonic. The web site is www.panasonic.com/support/. Do a search under OEM and your drive will come up with all the info. Hope this helps.

Have a valid reason for a firmware update, not just for fun, as they can 'break' the drive.

Your other drive can be found at www.optorite.com. I agree with AcaCandy if you don't absolutly need the update don't use it. If the update doesn't install properly you will end up with a paperweight.

The reason I want to do a Firmware update is because I asked some one what should I do to fix an error that said, "Setup is unable to find a file in needs to continue. Please make sure the CD-ROM is in the drive and press Retry to continue."I click on Retry and the error keeps on appearing. This error keeps on appearing when I'm trying to Install the game TEST DRIVE 5.

If I shouldn't do a firmware update is there any other way I could fix this problem???????????

Try cleaning the cd or the lens on the cdrom with a cd lens cleaner.

Any scratches on the cd? And is it possible to read the cd on another computer?

Doesn't sound like something a firmware update would fix.

Well, there is something strange here then. I've seen some drives (older ones) that won't read CDRW disks, but, you said this was an original disk, so........
