Hello!

So, I'm building my first PC in a few days when I get all my components delivered.

I purchased and ASUS mobo P5B-E

Regarding BIOS, should I flash my BIOS with the latest update from the ASUS site before I do anything else? Or should I let my computer start up and wait and see if there are any component failures?

Thanks for the help :)

You should not flash the BIOS unless there is some compelling reaon for doing so. In this case, newer is not better.

oh, good to know thanks. The first thing I was going to do was flash my BIOS. I'm glad I asked lol.

The main reason for not flashing the BIOS without a compelling reason for doing so is that if something goes wrong when flashing a BIOS just because you can, usually the motherboard is rendered usless and there is no way to recover (except to buy a new motherboard or BIOS chip).
