    i just installed a 3.5" floppy drive in my p3 550...
i'm kinda new to hardware problems, so bare with me....it's plugged into a cable that represents an IDE cable, but the plug part at the end is just a bit shorter....i'm not really sure what this kind of cable is.

it's power is plugged in and everything. everything boots fine, and the light on the drive never goes off, but it's not coming up in my explorer as drive A. it's not listed at all in my device manager either.

any ideas? the floppy drive is a mitsumi model D359M3.

    thanks in advance!

The cable is upside down. Just flip the connector over where it connects to the drive and see if that solves things.
