I am running on my pop's machine a 1.2 ghz windows xp home ed. and all of a sudden the A drive recently has been spinning a lot from when the computer boot still when it shuts down, and when i feed it a disk it stops being noisy, however i cannot figure out what is causing it, Norton 2k3 isn't it and there are nop viruses or anything. I can't find anything for auto-run or anything like that either, suggestions would be useful...

You can turn off the floppy drive seek in the bios, and change the boot order so that the hard drive is booted first.
