    Hi, What do I need to do to make a floppy non-writeable please?

    There should be a slideable 'thingy' on one of the two square holes in the floppy and moving it will mean both holes are open so the floppy is write- protected. (This seemed to make sense when I started typing, but I hope you get the picture!!)

    And if you need for it to be permanently write-protected, you can punch the sliding tab (or "thingy" ;) ) out. Or at least that's what we always did.
