My laptop is a Packard Bell Easynote TS13HR, but it has recently had an acer motherboard installed(could this be the problem?). I've come to notice when i hold Fn and and press an F key recently it hasn't worked, or it has had an effect from what it is supposed to. Also there are some custom buttons that have no effect at all ( volume up, volume down, volume mute etc. )

    for example:
Fn + F3 is supposed to turn my wireless off, but it actually puts my laptop to sleep
Fn + F5 is supposed to turn my display off, but it switches to an external display.
Fn + F6 is supposed to turn my touchpad off, but it turns my display off.

any ideas on how to fix this are greatly appreciated.

i guess having a motherboard in my laptop other than the original is what is causing this, is there any way to change what the fn and f buttons do, or do i need to put the right motherboard in my system?

Did you reinstall the Hot Key software for either the eMachines model or the Acer model?
