I'm transfering data off of an old hard drive and I ran into a brick wall when trying to access a user's folder in the "Documents and Settings" folder. Turns out they had a password on the old system and the folder is encrypted.

I need a way to get the data out of this folder either with the password or without.

That doesn't really tell me how to decrypt the folder

If they used Encrypted File System, you can't get access the files. Consider them gone.

I doubt it was encrypted but they did set an account password in XP. Does that count as the same thing?
