Folder problems

    hi,i have yet another problem...actually 2 problems...:

    1-everytime I open a folder,the left side folder bar apperas (that little thing where you choose the folders you want to go) and i would like to take it off permanently..can someone help me

    2-when i open a folder,instead of appearing on the same window,it changes window,and i want it to always be on the same window...anyone know the answer...

    You didn't say what OS you are using. If Windows XP, open the folder and at the top beside search icon is the icon Folders. Click this icon to toggle the folders on and off.
    Next, click Tools> Folder Options> on the General tab, click the radio button: Open each folder in its own window then Apply and OK.

    i did all you said and still problem stays..EVERYTIME i open a folder that thing on left side appears (i want to take it out PERMANENTLY,to put back to default) and windows still open in different....please help me

    You can check the Folder Options, View tab, make sure that Remember each folder's view settings is checked. If still problems, go to kelly's-korner and scroll down to line 30: Windows XP Doesn't Save User Settings. Instruction to save and run regedits at top of web page.
    The two views of the left side of the folder window are the only ones you can have that I know of. See attachments.
