What is this re occuring error?! I keep finding more and more folders within the C Drive featuring album covers from my music folder. For example in the picture..Flight Simulator 2004s AI aircraft folders have these covers on them!?!? Why!?!? I mean i know this can be hidden by changing the icon from thumbnail to something else but its still something i wish to try and understand if possible.....

Interesting error, I wonder if you have some form of malware? I picked up a browser hijack and it was a pain in the butt. I had to restore the computer to get rid of it.

It's just taking an image from within the folder and displaying it as a quick view of what it contains. It's not an error, it's by design when displaying thumbnails. What makes you think it's an error?

Those images show up when you have a file named Folder.jpg inside the folder. When you put an album in Windows Media Player it will create that file.

However it's a hidden file so to see it go to Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > View tab and click on "Show hidden files and folders". Then just delete the Folder.jpg files that are in the wrong folders. You might want to keep the ones that are in the correct music album folders.

There are no music files and no album cover jpegs in these folders. There should be no reason for these to even show up in the folder shown (flight simulator 2004).

This is the point im trying to get across, even when showing hidden files there are no signs of jpegs....its bizarre

Another example is, i could go into a folder thats blank come out of it and on exiting that folder all of a sudden a random album cover shows

Try doing a search for files named "folder.jpg" and be sure to select the Advanced search and include hidden files. Then right-click on them and select "properties" to see their locations.

In Folder Options>View, uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and OK.
Now look in the folders that are showing the "cover art" for any jpegs.

Did you see any Thumbs.db or Desktop.ini files in those folders with the cover art?

There is a thumb.db file in many folders with this re-occuring album cover problem and also those without the problem also have thumb.db files too?....

The Thumbs.db is a data file that stores information for thumbnails for each folder.
Open Folder Options>View and place a check by "Do not cache thumbnails" and OK.
Delete the Thumbs.db in one of the folders with the art and see if it makes a difference. I have a feeling it won't, but it's simple and won't cause any harm and may work.
