did you adjust your display settings?

If everything seems to be bigger such as desktop icons etc

Right click desktop, click properties, choose settings tab and change the pixel size

If I read you correctly, your desktop displays large fonts. If so, you can adjust the point size by right clicking the desktop choose appearance and then adjust the point size of the display text.

If you are using IE, choose View from the menu bar and then Text Size.
