I would like to know if any of you have noticed this problem with McAfee VirusScan Online 8.0.26 :
I posted a few times here for system slowdowns. My best example would be my «Display Properties» taking 6 or 7 seconds to appear on screen instead of appearing instantly like before. I formated my system to correct the problem because I didn't know what caused it. As soon as I installed my antivirus, the slowdown began again. As soon as I deactivate the antivirus, everything comes back to normal.
I started having this problem about 2 months ago. I had this antivirus for about 3 years without any problems. I've always been satisfied with it. One of the last automatic updates has some kind of major bug I'm afraid.
I've contacted McAfee. The technician with whom I've been talking with couldn't help me with this. He never heard about this issue. He said that he was going to do a research and come back to me. That was 2 days ago.
I think it's a relatively new problem for McAfee and they will need more complaints to do something. I'm sure some of you using this software have noticed a slowdown of your system without knowing why. Try deactivating the antivirus to see.
I always loved this antivirus because of all the automatic updates of the program and of virus information. I want to stay with it but a solution will have to be found.
Thank you
