Forced to use generic driver(can't detect video card??)

    A few years ago, I used to play Diablo II on my computer with no problems. Since then, I have gotten a newer video card (Radeon 7500) and have gotten a newer version of DirectX . When I recently reinstalled D2, the video test failed, telling me that no modes were found. It told me to download the latest video drivers for my card, so I downloaded the corresponding Omega drivers. Then when I tried to play the game I got the message:

    "Error 22: A critical error has occurred while initializing DirectDraw."

    here is what comes up when I run dxdiag:

    The video card shows up in the Device Manager, but dxdiag says that I am using the generic video driver...
