 My computer is very slow to start up so i thik its has spyware and viruses on it. Im thinking of using my "Drivescrubber CD" to clean off both of my hard drives ( I have 2). So my question is if i use the CD to clean off both of my hard drives how will i be able to make a fresh installation of windows XP? Is there a way afte the cleaning to make your computer boot from CD after your system has been wiped clean???
Also I only have a windows home edition CD and printer CDs will that be enough to do a fresh install because my copmuter is refurbished and it did not come with driver CDs....:(

    Back up your drivers, too.

    WinDriversBackup
    DriverMax

After that, just boot from the XP CD. Formatting and partitioning is all part of setup and no longer needs to be done ahead of time.

You don't need any third-party program. To be certain that your drive is clean, all you need do is boot from the XP CD and follow the prompts. You will be given the chance to remove all the partitions (thus removing all data). Remove them, and then create new ones or one new one. Format the new partition NTFS and continue with setup.

The directions onscreen are very complete. Just read as you go along.

Yes all you need is the windows XP cd. No crummy 3rd party software needed. however i did use a 'zero-write' utility that came with my maxtor hard drive..it worked at least xD

If you want to format it make sure you dont tell it to leave the existing filessystem intact otherwise youll just be giving the viruses fresh meat to corrupt
