I want to format my hard drive. What files specifically should I backup before I format?

Well, what sort of info do you want to keep?

Start by mentioning what version of Operating System and Email/Browsers you run perhaps, as the answers vary.

I am using XP Pro and want to install a legit copy of Xp Home. I use Internet Explorer with Outlook Express. Having looked at the Backup Wizard I'm thinking of backing up my entire hard drive. I have two hard drives installed, a SATA 120G and a standard 19G. There is enough room on the standard 19G to handle what's on the 120G.

I would backup the lot as well, then import your OE .dbx files and address book etc.

Then just bring back that data you want.
When you are content you have everything at some point in the future, you could delete the backup.
