Hi,
I know formatting topics are posted like everywhere, but I have read through most of them and they dont provide a start to end solution...

I've never done this before and I just want backup my files and format the hdd clean like the day i brought it.

1. Can someone give a site where it explains how to format your hdd form start to end and how to setup my new OS... including pics would be nice.

2. The order of drivers and service pack i should install

Cheers...

if you are installing 2000 or xp the cd will reformat hd for you.
the best place for an install guide is blackviper
it has pictures and what not

but what i do is at bottom

after backing up all you data.
get a glass of pop or tea or what ever you drink
get a good book to read
just enter bios screen by pressing delete(usually)
make your cdrom the first boot item
put cd in the drive
press any key to boot cd when asked
the cd does the rest.
read book and check screen every now and then and hit appropriate buttons
then it askes use existing partition or delete.
chose delete
are you sure y\n yes
read some more
hit more buttons
restart
read somemore
hit a few more buttons
type in cd key
few more settings.
read some more
first boot\
set resolution
install anit virus software
then you can use windows update.
restart
use windows update agian
restart
use windows update agian
restart
then restore data you backed up
