Help!!!! I have created a form in Word 97. It basically lists the information I need and there is a text box to the side for the response to the question. All I need to know is how do I fix this form so the end user can put a response in the text box and tab to the next box. I feel like an idiot, I can not figure out how this works. I could do it in excel however this is for work and has to be in Word. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!
Angel is right, provided you used form fields. I suspect you didn't. Electronic forms are easy to create in Word. What's not clear is how. Just hit View-Toolbars and select the Forms toolbar. You must first type what you don't want someone to edit, then insert a form field (text, checkbox, or dropdown) for where you want the user to enter their response. Use the padlock to test the form only while you're creating it. The form must be protected in order for the user to tab from (fillable) field to (fillable) field. When you have completed the creation of your form, THEN use Tools-Protection and select Forms, which allows you to apply a password. Otherwise, your user(s) will be able to unprotect the form.
I suggest not using "text boxes" in forms. However, you will want to use the "text form field" on the Forms toolbar. I.e., don't confuse the two--they're very different.
