In an Excel spreadsheet, I want all the numbers to be increased by 1. Can anyone please help with a formula?

    Thanks so much in advance!

    Not really enough info, but:

put 1 in a spare cell. Click on that cell and Edit - Copy.

Then highlight all the numbers you want incremented by 1, and Edit - Paste Special - Add

You can delete the contents of the cell that you stored the 1 in, its not referenced.
Be careful though as this will increment all numbers including adding 1 to any formula.

Highlight the start of the series along with the blank cells you wish to fill (in a row or column), then go to Edit, Fill, Series and complete in the appropriate data - linear type and step value of 1 in this case, but it can be non-linear using trend and Excel will intelligently (?) work out the sequence. You can also do dates.

Sorry it took so long to get back. I had a cllent that's system went completely down so was swamped.

I tried Kiwi guy's first and it worked perfectly. Thanks, Kiwi.

CH the question was this. In Excel if I have a column with values:

    10
    12
    15
    18

but wanted all records to be one increment:

    11
    13
    16
    18

What would I need to do?

    Sorry I wasn't clear.

Thanks, everyone for all your help. This site is so great.

Add a column to the right of the one you want to change, and add a formula (cell to the left) + 1, then copy it down the rest of the column - you can then hide the original column if you wish

He's already used kiwi's answer, which was best and easiest for his purposes.
