In Win XP Pro, I just installed a second drive (ST36531A) and now the wizard keeps asking me to install drivers for it. Surely a hard disk shouldn't need a driver? I can use the drive quite normally, but this is irritating! How can I get it to stop asking?

    Thanks to one and all

Verify that Logical Disk manager is running in administrative tols / services and that it is set to automatic.

    Mobo,

Thanks for your response. There are two Logical Disk Manager entries in Control Panel. I set both to Automatic and re-booted. No change. I stopped both services and re-booted. no change - still asks for a driver.

Both are on Cable Select. The Master (120gb WD) is on the master plug (cable end) and the Seagate on the slave plug in the middle. As I say, both are recognised during boot up and both behave quite normally in Windows!
