Even after deleating all my files i continually get the message " to free up disc space, outlook express can compact messages " when i click on clean up it will be back on every 15 to 20 seconds. Very annoying! I am using xp home edition.

Have you tried compacting your OE files as the message asks?

Have you tried emptying your deleted folder?
Clean out any other folder that may have items that are not needed?

    And then do the compacting!

I am not sure how to transpose a screen shot to this reply however the message seys:
To free up disk space, outlook express can compact messages.this may take a few minutes.

    Ok cancel

i just emptied my folders and clicked on ok and the message still appears.
I have tried the fix throoper suggested to costaki with no successful results.

Which fix did you try ? Clearing the check count, New Identity, and/or something from one of the links I posted ?
Also, are you in the same situation as "costaki" with SP3 installed ?

To find out if you have the Windows SP3 update. right click My Computer and click Properties. The Windows version (Home, Pro, etc) and Service Pack (SP) should be listed on the General tab. If it's SP3, you may have the same problems trying to fix it as "costaki".

The next step would be trying a New Identity. The instructions for that are in post #5 of that thread.

    compact
    remove message
    deleat
    reset
and so far i have not had the message occure. it may come back later but for now its working.

    this might work for costaki.
