The problem is that the directory /etc/cron.* do not exist. I created /etc/cron.daily directory, but cron doesn't check the scripts in that directory what could I do so that the cron daemon runs the scripts in /etc/cron.daily on a daily basis?

I created a file called /etc/cron.allow to allow the user postgres to have it owns cronjobs and that worked (so tasks are executed at scheduled times).

    I also don't have /etc/cron.d.
