    Hi folks,

I'd like a little bit of information so I can decide wether to embark on my new career path.I currently work for Sun Microsystems and among many of my other tasks I am responsible for the design and upkeep of one of Sun's partners website (about the only thing I don't do is make coffee; we have a machine for that). And having seen some other websites out there I believe I would be able to make a decent living as a freelance web designer.
What I would like to know however, is how to go about advertising myself, what are the best industry areas to hit, how much should I really charge for an average sized website etc. I'm currently based in the UK so answers from citizens of good 'ol blighty are particularly appreciated.
I hope you can find it in your hearts to help me on my way to fame and fortune, or at the very least a reasonable wage.

    Thanks for your help,
    Grant.
