Recently I've had some problems installing and/or uninstalling programs.

When I've tried to do either, most of the time at some point my computer will freeze.. Although windows will still update and do things (i.e. music or video I'm playing keeps playing, or the task manager keeps updating), I can't do anything with anything on the desktop - none of my mouse clicks do anything, and if i CTRL+ALT+DEL, I get a busy cursor for a second or so then nothing happens..

I am eventually forced to restart to be able to do anything again.. Does anyone know how I can go about fixing this, as obviously it's making life very difficult for me!
