I'm not sure if I'm putting this in the right forum, and if I am not, please point me in the right direction. My mouse keeps freezing on me on my Dell Inspiron Laptop, and sometimes it will fix right away, and sometimes it takes a whole day to fix. Any suggestions?

What's the make and model of the problem PC?

What operating system is running on the problem PC?

Are you using a trackpad or a mouse?

What are you doing when this problem occurs?

I have a Dell Inspiron N5040. It is only a month old. I run on Windows 7 XP, I use a trackpad, and it varies on what I'm doing. Sometimes I'm on the internet, sometimes it is when I turn on the computer, and sometimes it's when I'm using Microsoft Office.

HERE is the latest driver for the Dell Inspiron N5040 trackpad.

Download and install it, then reboot your computer.
