I have had problems with random computer restarts. No bsod. Sometimes it runs ok one day then the next not good. Today was the last straw. My daughter came in from school and started it up and it froze on the start up at the bios bit that searches for ram and hard drives. I have a pentium 3 on a soyo motherboard, 512 of ram, nvidia graphics card, c-media sound card. I have tried all latest drivers, new xp proffesional install, re-seating cards, downloaded ram check. cheers in advance jamesboy

Hi and welcome. Do you have more than one chip of ram? If so, test each one separately. Also be sure the hard drive and floppy drive cables are secure.
